About
The Music Society of Strathcona County was created to enhance the musical diversity within our community, to create awareness of the benefits of arts and culture to residents and visitors, and to promote events and opportunities to showcase music and artists.

The Music Society of Strathcona County formed as an Incorporated Non-Profit in April of 2018. Our mandate was to put on an annual outdoor music festival in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. The festival is called the RavenWood Music Festival.
In the fall of 2023, we started the RavenWood Music Club. A six show singer/songwriter series that ran at the Strathcona County Museum & Archives. As of the fall of 2024, the Music Club expanded to eight shows and is now located at Salisbury Greenhouse.
Also under the Society is the community online Radio Station called SoundSugarRadio.com
We are a 100% volunteer run organization, our board consists of 7 community-minded individuals.

We recognize, promote, celebrate and love diversity in our music. On Sound Sugar Radio, you hear almost anything grace our airwaves! From independent to international and filled with all kinds of styles in-between, it's here for you to hear!

We also have community shows hosted by local community leaders like Glenda Sheard, Krystal Hampel, & Jacquie Surgenor Gaglione.
